Workshop on Local Dialogue
Time & Location
Pasadena, 135 N Oakland Ave, Pasadena, CA 91182, USA
About The Event
The keynote speaker tested positive for COVID, so we are postponing the workshop to April. More details will be sent after Easter.
Join us for a free hybrid in-person and online Forum event on March 25! The workshop will be on encouraging dialogue between local congregations. Ecumenical work includes numerous activities, including common prayer and service, yet talking with each other through our disagreements is also important for Christian unity. The workshop will revolve around Karen Petersen Finch's recent book, Grassroots Ecumenism: The Way of Local Christian Reunion. Participants do not need to have read the book beforehand.
Pastor Finch will be sharing about best practices in local dialogue, and we will be discussing what these practices could look like in our own congregations. Participants will be trained in encouraging theological reflection and resolving conflict between churches. This is also a good opportunity to include fellow church members who would be interested, so feel free to invite others.
